How do I know if chiropractic is the right option for me?

Please feel free to call if you would like to discuss your complaint over the phone. Alternatively I offer a free 15 minute consultation which can help you decide whether chiropractic treatment is the best course of action for you. Please call or email to make an appointment.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments needed depends upon factors such as how long you have had your problem and how well your body responds to treatment. Whilst some people with a recent problem need a few treatments, for others a longer course of sessions may be more appropriate. Some patients choose to continue with regular maintenance checkups.

Does treatment hurt?

Generally treatment is pain free, although if an area is very inflamed there may be a small reaction to treatment. This usually does not last more than a day or two.

What is the clicking noise that I hear during an adjustment?

The noise is the result of a phenomenon known as ‘cavitation’. When the two surfaces of a joint are quickly stretched apart, as happens during an adjustment, there is a sudden change of pressure, which can lead to a popping noise. This is a natural process, and does not hurt. If you do not like the sound Diane can offer gentler sessions for those phobic of the sound and sensation, this can be discussed at your treatment session.

Is chiropractic suitable for everyone?

Chiropractic care is suitable for all ages, from four day old babies babies to the elderly. Treatment is adjusted as appropriate.

Can chiropractic help during pregnancy?

Chiropractic care can usually help with problems arising as a result of pregnancy; most commonly back, leg and pelvic pain.

How much does treatment cost?

The initial 45 minute consultation and treatment is £60. Thereafter follow-up treatments are £40. Please see the the fees page for more details.

Can I claim for treatment via my health insurance?

Cover for chiropractic care varies between providers. Please mention that you would like to do so when making your initial appointment, in order that we can ensure that you will be able to claim back the cost of your treatment. Diane does not work with all Health Insurance Companies, she will be happy to print a receipt of treatments undertaken But please do check with your insurance provider on their policies for this method.

How often should I receive chiropractic care?

The frequency of care varies for several different reasons;

  • The severity of your symptoms
  • General health and fitness
  • The degree of stress and anxiety you are experiencing
  • Your diet and lifestyle.
  • If you have an underlying condition
  • Your hobbies and lifestyle
  • Your occupation and activities
  • The length of time you have been suffering
  • If an injury caused your condition
